I was just reflecting on the days when I was really getting into the craft aspect of photography, and I was genuinely enthusiastic about it. But I always felt there was a chasm between what I got excited about with craft and what I got excited about with inspiration photos. I just couldn’t see how to connect those two things. For some reason, i had it in my mind that focusing on craft was different than focusing on creative intuition, like they were two sides and I had to pick a side. Now, years later, I realize how simple the solution is; just do both. Begin with your intuition to find an interesting shot, then use your craft to develop that shot. That’s it!
