Faces are really important to me in my portraits. Some portraits are more about the figure, the representation of a person, but focus on the face (especially eyes) is THEM, it’s a real portrait, because it’s ABOUT the subject themselves, not what archetype or suggestion or feeling they might REPRESENT.

I’m finding that I really like shots with soft focus. It feels more like film, and adds a hazy dreamy aethetic I really love.
